Men’s Volleyball Picked Seventh In AVCA Preseason Poll

LEXINGTON, Ky.- The 2015 American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) poll was released on Thursday. The Juniata men's volleyball team has been selected seventh.

 

Juniata is the highest-ranking Continental Volleyball Conference (CVC) member, receiving 138 total points. They finished ranked #8 in the poll last year after going 24-5 overall. Rutgers-Newark picked up 125 points in this year's poll and are ranked #8 after going 22-10 overall last season, their first competing in NCAA Division III. The Scarlet Raiders won the CVC Tournament; advancing to the quarterfinals of the national tournament.  Stevenson totaled 46 points, ranking #14 in the poll, after going 19-14 overall last season, advancing to the CVC Championship match.

 

The Eagles begin their 2016 season on January 22 when they play Mount St. Vincent and Elmira at the Elmira Invitational. Juniata's first home match is February 5 against Eastern Mennonite.
