O'Donovan Honored as Landmark Athlete of the Week

TOWSON, Md. – Men's Track and Field senior Desmond O'Donovan (Philadelphia, Pa. / Science Leadership Academy), was one of eight student-athletes honored as the Landmark Conference Men's Track and Field Athlete of the Week.

With the unprecedented cancellation of spring sports due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Landmark Conference will be recognizing an athlete from each member institution in each conference-sponsored spring sport for the remainder of the academic year.

O'Donovan was a four-year member of the Juniata men's track & field team. He made the Landmark All-Conference second team as a sophomore when he was a part of the distance medley relay team that took second at the Indoor Championships. His time of 15:24.69 in the 5000m at the Swarthmore Final Qualifier in his junior season is the fifth-fastest time in school history. At the Outdoor Championships during his freshman season, he ran a personal best in the 3000m steeplechase with a time of 10:17.16. He made the Academic Honor Roll his final two seasons.
