Men's Track and Field Closes Out Day 2 of Landmark Championships

TOWSON, Md.- The Juniata men's track & field team closed out the Landmark Outdoor Track and Field Championships tied for fifth.

Brenden Gardner (Muncy, Pa. / Hughesville) claimed second in the 400m hurdles with a time of 57.14 and Malcolm MacDermid (San Francisco, Calif. / Lick-Wilmanding) finished fifth with a time of 1:01.59. 

Peter D'Amico (Hummelstown, Pa. / Hershey) finished sixth in the 3000m steeplechase with a time of 10:08.61. Evan MacMullin (Haverhill, Mass. / Saint John's Prep HS) finished sixth in the 400m dash with a time of 51.50. Desmond O'Donovan (Philadelphia, Pa. / Science Leadership Academy) finished eighth with a time of 15:41.54 in the 5000m run. 

Andy Meci (Woodstock, N.Y. / Onteora) took 11th (1:59.21) in the 800m run while Thomas Cope (Fogelsville, Pa. / Allentown Central Catholic) finished 19th (2:22.91). In the 100m dash prelimineries, Noah Zolnak (Altoona, Pa. / Altoona Area HS) finished 18th with a time of 11.99. In the 200m dash, Daulton Snyder (New Oxford, Pa. / New Oxford) finished 18th with a time of 24.72 while Zolnak placed 19th with a time of 24.84. 

The Eagles took fourth in the 4x100m relay with a time of 46.07. Juniata placed fifth in the 4x400m relay with a time of 3:32.92. 

Gardner tied for fifth in the high jump with a jump of 1.68m. Thayer Phillips (Cuddy, Pa. / South Fayette) was fifth in the shot put with a throw of 12.86m. Phillips placed 12th in the hammer throw, marking 36.48m.
