Men's Track and Field Runs at Jim Taylor Invite

SELINSGROVE, Pa.- The Juniata men's track & field team competed at the Jim Taylor Invitational hosted by Susquehanna, Saturday.

In the field, Thayer Phillips (Cuddy, Pa. / South Fayette) marked 40.57m in the hammer throw. Phillips marked 39.41m in the discus. Phillips marked 13.63m in the shot put and marked 60.75m in the javelin. Phillips hammer throw was a personal best and also put him at No. 5 all-time in the Juniata record book. His shot put was his best ever. Phillips also got a season best in the discus and a personal best in the javelin which put No. 5 all-time in the Juniata record book. 

Brenden Gardner (Muncy, Pa. / Hughesville) finished with a time of 16.61 in the 110m hurdles. In the 100m dash, Noah Zolnak (Altoona, Pa. / Altoona Area HS) came in with a time of 12.11. In the 1500m run, Evan Ulrich (Homer, N.Y. / Homer) finished with a time of 4:05.80 while Steven Glodek (Amberton, Pa. / Fannett-Metal) came in with a time of 4:46.70 and Thomas Cope (Fogelsville, Pa. / Allentown Central Catholic) finished with a time of 4:54.52. Evan MacMullin (Haverhill, Mass. / Saint John's Prep HS) finished with a time of 52.89 in the 400m dash. 

Andy Meci (Woodstock, N.Y. / Onteora) (1:58.98), Ulrich (2:04.94) and Cope (2:28.21) competed in the 800m. Gardner finished with a time of 1:00.25 in the 400m hurdles. Zolnak came in with a time of 24.95 in the 200m dash. Desmond O'Donovan (Philadelphia, Pa. / Science Leadership Academy) (15:49.99), Vinnie Caroselli (Upland, Pa. / Milton Hershey) (16:10.78) and Peter D'Amico (Hummelstown, Pa. / Hershey) (16:24.71) all competed in the 5000m run. 

The team of MacMullin, Meci, Gardner, and Malcolm MacDermid (San Francisco, Calif. / Lick-Wilmanding) finished fourth in their second coming in with a time of 3:37.36. 

Juniata will compete April 6th at the Frostburg Invitational.
