Men's Track & Field Competes at Paul Kaiser Classic

SHIPPENSBURG, Pa.- The Juniata men's track & field team competed in the Paul Kaiser Classic held at Shippensburg University, Saturday.

The Eagles top finisher was Desmond O'Donovan (Philadelphia, Pa. / Science Leadership Academy) who placed seventh in the 5,000m finishing with a time of 16:19.53. Steven Glodek (Amberton, Pa. / Fannett-Metal) finished 15th with a time of 17:05.88 while Perry Willig (Redwood City, Calif. / Bellarmine High School) finished 17th with a time of 17:29.97. In the 3000m, Vinnie Caroselli (Upland, Pa. / Milton Hershey) placed 10th crossing the line at 9:12.03, Kevin Schofield (Madison, Conn. / Daniel Hand) placed 12th with a time of 9:14.25, and Ben Martin (New Holland, Pa. / Garden Spot) placed 13th with a time of 9:14.83. In the 4x100m relay, the team of Evan MacMullin (Haverhill, Mass. / Saint John's Prep HS),  Storm Fridinger (Shippenburg, Pa. / Shippensburg), John Randolph (Jonestown, Pa. / Northern Lebanon), and  Brenden Gardner (Muncy, Pa. / Hughesville) took 10th place.  In the 200m dash, Gardner finished 13th coming in with a time of 23.13, Fridinger finished 33rd clocking in at 23.85, and MacMullin finished 52nd with a time of 24.86. MacMullin took 27th in the 400m dash with a time of 54.44. 

In the 800m, Andy Meci (Woodstock, N.Y. / Onteora) finished 24th with a time of 1:59.51, Peter D'Amico (Hummelstown, Pa. / Hershey) finished 43rd crossing the finish at 2:02.87, and Lucas Simpson (Silver Spring, MD / Albert Einstein) finished 44th with a time of 2:03.12. D'Amico placed 23rd in the 1500m crossing the finish line at 4:19.91. Gardner placed 14th (16.52) while Brian Dignazio (Milford, Mass. / Milford High) placed 26th (20.31) in the 110m hurdles. Dignazio finished 27th in the 400m with a time of 1:07.28.

In long jump, Randolph placed 28th marking 6.16m. In the shot put, Thayer Phillips (Cuddy, Pa. / South Fayette) placed 19th, throwing 12.03m. In the discus throw, Phillips placed 18th marking 38.67. In the javelin, Phillips placed 13th (45.37m) while Randolph placed 15th (44.93m).
