Men's Track & Field Competes in Widener Invite

CHESTER, Pa.- The Juniata men's track and field team finished 24th in the Widener Invite, Friday and Saturday.

Evan Ulrich (Homer, N.Y. / Homer) led the Eagles, placing 15th in the 1500m race, with a time of 4:03.65. Vinnie Caroselli (Upland, Pa. / Milton Hershey) placed 47th with a time of 4:14.22, Glodek placed 81st with a time of 4:28.35, and Perry Willig (Redwood City, Calif. / Bellarmine High School) placed 85th with a time of 4:30.73. 

In the 200m run Evan MacMullin (Haverhill, Mass. / Saint John's Prep HS) finished 65th crossing the finish line at 24.65. Storm Fridinger (Shippenburg, Pa. / Shippensburg) finished 17th in the 400m run finising with a time of 51.00. In the 800m, Andy Meci (Woodstock, N.Y. / Onteora), Lucas Simpson (Silver Spring, MD / Albert Einstein), and Steven Glodek (Amberton, Pa. / Fannett-Metal) placed 30th (1:59.90), 40th (2:01.32), and 98th (2:13.92) respectivelty. 

In the 5000m, Kevin Schofield (Madison, Conn. / Daniel Hand) finished 45th with a time of 15:41.49. In the 110m hurdles, Brenden Gardner (Muncy, Pa. / Hughesville) finished 17th (17.19) and Brian Dignazio (Milford, Mass. / Milford High) finished 19th (18.17). In the 400m hurdles, Gardner finished seventh crossing the line at 57.05 and Dignazio finished 31st crossing the finish line at 1:08.71. Alexander Jones (Burlington, N.J. / Burlington Township) took ninth in the 3000m steeplechase with a time of 9:55.71. The team of Meci, Fridinger, Simpson, and MacMullin placed 14th in the 4x400m relay. 

John Randolph (Jonestown, Pa. / Northern Lebanon) placed 23rd in the high jump marking 1.70m and he also placed 29th in the long jump marking 5.84m. In the shot put, Daniel Fernandez (New Oxford, Pa. / New Oxford) placed 20th throwing 11.95m while Thayer Phillips (Cuddy, Pa. / South Fayette) placed 25th marking 11.59m. In the discus, Phillips placed ninth (40.79m) and Fernandez placed 22nd (34.45m). In the javelin, Phillips placed ninth marking 50.37m and Randolph placed 22nd marking 43.36m.
