Men's Track & Field Competes at Ship Mid-Week Invitational

SHIPPENSBURG, Pa.- The Juniata men's track & field team competed at the Ship Mid-Week Invitational, Wednesday.

In the 200m dash, Brenden Gardner (Muncy, Pa. / Hughesville) finished fourth with a time of 23.56 while Storm Fridinger (Shippenburg, Pa. / Shippensburg) finished eighth with a time of 23.87 and Brian Dignazio (Milford, Mass. / Milford High) finished 18th with a time of 26.69. In the 400m dash, Lucas Simpson (Silver Spring, MD / Albert Einstein) took 12th place with a time of 54.00. Alexander Jones (Burlington, N.J. / Burlington Township) placed second in the 1500m run recording a time of 4:09.60 while teammates Andy Meci (Woodstock, N.Y. / Onteora) finished third with a time of 4:12.81 and Desmond O'Donovan (Philadelphia, Pa. / Science Leadership Academy) finished fifth coming in with a time of 4:17.64. 

In the 3000m run, Evan Ulrich (Homer, N.Y. / Homer), Ben Martin (New Holland, Pa. / Garden Spot), Steven Glodek (Amberton, Pa. / Fannett-Metal), and Perry Willig (Redwood City, Calif. / Bellarmine High School) placed fourth (8:56.35), fifth (9:18.65), seventh (9:45.66), and ninth (10:06.58) respectively. In the 110m hurdles, Gardner took seventh crossing the finish line at 16.71 and Dignazio took 10th with a time of 20.16. The team of Evan MacMullin (Haverhill, Mass. / Saint John's Prep HS), Fridinger, John Randolph (Jonestown, Pa. / Northern Lebanon), and Gardner finshed second in the 4x100m relay. The quartet of Meci, Simpson, MacMullin, and O'Donovan placed fifth in the 4x400m relay. 

Fridinger placed fourth in the high jump, marking 1.86m. In the long jump, Randolph placed 14th marking 5.76m. In the shot put, Daniel Fernandez (New Oxford, Pa. / New Oxford) placed ninth throwing 12.26m while Thayer Phillips (Cuddy, Pa. / South Fayette) placed 10th throwing 12.09m. In the discus, Phillips came in 10th marking 42.18m and Fernandez placed 22nd throwing 35.07m. Fernandez placed 12th in the hammer throw while Phillips placed 15th.
