Men's Track & Field Completes Weekend at Coach P Invitational

BETHLEHEM, Pa.- The Juniata men's track & field team competed at the Coach P Invitational held at Moravian, Friday and Saturday.

In the 5000m, Evan Ulrich (Homer, N.Y. / Homer) finished second with a time of 15:44.02 while Perry Willig (Redwood City, Calif. / Bellarmine High School) finished 29th with a time of 17:42.29. Evan MacMullin (Haverhill, Mass. / Saint John's Prep HS) finished 54th with a time of 24.78 in the 200m. In the 400m, Storm Fridinger (Shippenburg, Pa. / Shippensburg) finished 20th (50.98) and MacMullin finished 41st (54.11). In the 800m, Andy Meci (Woodstock, N.Y. / Onteora) (1:59.38), Lucas Simpson (Silver Spring, MD / Albert Einstein) (2:02.83), Desmond O'Donovan (Philadelphia, Pa. / Science Leadership Academy) (2:07.47), and Peter D'Amico (Hummelstown, Pa. / Hershey) (2:10.08) finished 22nd, 37th, 54th, and 59th respectively. 

D'Amico crossed the line at 4:12.14 while Kevin Schofield (Madison, Conn. / Daniel Hand) crossed at 4:14.48, Ben Martin (New Holland, Pa. / Garden Spot) crossed at 4:15.77, and O'Donovan crossed at 4:17.34. In the 110m hurdles, Brenden Gardner (Muncy, Pa. / Hughesville) came in 11th with a time of 15.53 while Brian Dignazio (Milford, Mass. / Milford High) came in 24th with a time of 20.24. Gardner finished 15th with a time of 57.58 and Dignazio finished 35th with a time of 1:03.07 in the 400m hurdles. In the 3000m steeple, Alexander Jones (Burlington, N.J. / Burlington Township) took fourth with a time of 10:27.35 while Steven Glodek (Amberton, Pa. / Fannett-Metal) too eighth with a time of 10:48.48. The team of Fridinger, Gardner, Meci, and Simpson came in 12th in the 4x400m relay. 

In the field, Fridinger placed 13th in the high jump and John Randolph (Jonestown, Pa. / Northern Lebanon) placed 35th in the long jump. In the shot put Daniel Fernandez (New Oxford, Pa. / New Oxford) took 31st marking 11.56m while Thayer Phillips (Cuddy, Pa. / South Fayette) took 33rd marking 11.45m. In the discus, Fernandez placed 33rd marking 34.90m. Fernandez placed 34th throwing 33.92m and Phillips placed 43rd throwing 26.65m in the hammer throw. In the javelin, Phillips placed 17th marking 49.97m and Randolph placed 23rd marking 47.66m.
