Men's Track and Field Competes at the Millersville Metrics

Millersville, Pa.- The Juniata men's track and field team competed at the 36th annual Millersville Metrics, Saturday afternoon.

Alexander Jones (Burlington, N.J./Burlington Township) finished second in the men's 5000m with a time of 15:59.64, Ben Martin (New Holland, Pa./Garden Spot) finished eighth with a time of 16:43.84 while Steven Glodeck (Amberton, Pa./Fannett-Metal) crossed the finish line 12th with a time of 17:05.57. Kevin Schofield (Madison, Conn./Daniel Hand) finished second in the 10,000m with a time 33:04.62.  

Brenden Gardner (Muncy, Pa./Hugesville) finished seventh in the 200m with a time of 23.35 while Storm Fridinger (Shippensburg, Pa./Shippensburg) finished with a time of 23.48. Gardner finished fourth in the 110m hurdles (17.66) while Evan Ulrich (Homer, N.Y./Homer) finished eighth in the 1500m with a time of 4:13.92. Andy Meci (Woodstock, N.Y./Onteora) finished 10th with a time of 4:15.43 while Peter D'Amico (Hummelstown, Pa./Hershey) finished 13th with a time of 4:16.36.  

Desmond O'Donovan (Philadelphia, Pa./Science Leadership Academy) finished fifth in the 3000m steeplechase with a time of 10:18.14. 

Fridinger, John Randolph (Jonestown, Pa./Northern Lebanon), Gardner and Lucas Simpson (Silver Spring, Md./Albert Einstein) finished third in the 4x100 meter relay with a time of 45.30. Randolph also finished 14th in the long jump (5.51m).

Daniel Fernandez (New Oxford, Pa./New Oxford) finished 12th in the discus with a throw of 35.22m and 15th in the hammer throw (33.35m).

Thayer Phillips (Cuddy, Pa./South Fayette) finished sixth in the javelin with a throw of 54.68m, Randolph finished eighth with a throw of (50.61m). Phillips finished 10th in the shot put (12.26m) while Fernandez finished 12th (12.19m).

They finished eighth out of 19 teams at the meet.
