Ulrich Leads Eagles at Jim Taylor Invitational

SELINSGROVE, Pa.Evan Ulrich (Homer, NY/Homer) was the top finisher for the Juniata men's track and field team as they competed at Susquehanna University on Saturday. Ulrich placed second in the 10000m run with a time of 32:37.37.

In the 3000m steeplechase, Steven Glodek (Amberton, Pa./Fannet-Metal) placed fifth (10:54.94). Brenden Gardner (Muncy, Pa./Hughsville) finished sixth in the 110m hurdles with a time of 17.08 while Brian Dignazio (Milford, Mass./Milford High) placed ninth (20.38). Storm Fridinger (Shippensburg, Pa./Shippensburg Area) took seventh place in the 400m dash with a 51.66 finish.

Gardner placed seventh in the 400m hurdles with a time of 58.95. In the 800m run, Andrew Meci (Woodstock, NY/Onteora) finished with a time of 2:01.99 to place sixth while teammates Alex Jones (Burlington, NJ/Burlington Township), Lucas Simpson (Silver Spring, MD/Albert Einstein) and Perry Willig (Redwood City, Calif./Bellarmine High School) placed tenth, seventeenth, and twenty-fifth, respectively. Jones ran the 1500m in 4:11.11 to take nineteenth place while Ben Martin (New Holland, Pa./Garden Spot) finished twenty-seventh.

Kevin Schofield (Madison, Conn./Daniel Hand) finished with a time of 15:57.26 in the 5000m to place ninth while Peter D'Amico (Hummelstown, Pa./Hershey), Desmond O'Donovan (Philadelphia, Pa./Science Leadership Academy) and Vinnie Caroselli (Hershey, Pa./Milton Hershey) trailed in thirteenth, fourteenth, and fifteenth place.

In the field, Fridinger cleared a height of 1.88m in the high jump for a fourth-place finish. Daniel Fernandez (Oxford, Pa./New Oxford) placed twelfth in both the hammer and shotput events. John Randolph (Jonestown, Pa./Northern Lebanon) threw a distance of 52.03 in javelin to place twelfth.

The Eagles compete in the Frostburg Invitational next Saturday.
