Men's Indoor Track & Field Kicks Off New Year at the Susquehanna Orange & Maroon Classic

SELINSGROVE, Pa.- The men's track & field team started off the new year at the Susquehanna Orange & Maroon Classic on Friday, January 19th.

Daniel Fernadez (Oxford, Pa. / New Oxford) was the Eagle's top finisher in the weight throw, he placed ninth marking 11.40m. Also Zach Krug (9.27) and Thayer Phillips (8.76) finished 16th and 17th respectively. In the shot put, Krug (11.89m), Fernandez (11.60m), and Phillips (9.95m) placed seventh, eighth, and 16th. In the long jump, John Randolph (Jonestown, Pa. / Northern Lebanon) placed 11th marking 5.83m. 

On the running side of things, Brian Dignazio (Milford, Mass. / Milford High) finished 11th coming in with a time of 11.66. In the distance medley relay, the Eagles finished just one second behind second place coming in with a time of 11:16.65. In the one mile run, Ben Martin (New Holland, Pa. / Garden Spot), Peter D'Amico (Hummelstown, Pa. / Hershey), Perry Willig (Redwood City, Calif. / Bellarmine High School), and Steven Glodek (Amberton, Pa. / Fannet-Metal) finished 11th, 15th, 22nd, and 24th. D'Amico (2:13.02) finished 16th 800 meter run while Martin (2:13.54) finished 18th, Desmond O'Donovan (Philadelphia, Pa. / Science Leadership Academy) (2:14.95) finished 21st, and Glodek (2:36.82) finished 26th. 

In the 200 meter dash, Storm Fridinger (Shippenburg, Pa. / Shippensburg) finished sixth while Brenden Gardner (- / Hughsville) finished just behind Fridinger in seventh. In the final event, Alexander Jones (Burlington, N.J. / Burlington Township) (9:22.72) finished sixth, Kevin Schofield (Madison, Conn. / Daniel Hand) (9:27.91) finished seventh, and Vinnie Caroselli (Hershey, Pa. / Milton Hershey) (9:32.67) finished ninth in the 3000 meter run. 

The Eagles return to action January 26th and 27th. They will be competing in the Bison Open & Multi at Bucknell.
