Several Top-Five Finishes at Landmark Championships for Men’s Track and Field

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Juniata men's track and field team placed 3rd at the Landmark Championships this weekend.

Petro Sokirniy's (Huntingdon Valley, Pa./Upper Moreland) time of 1:56.24 in the 800-meter race was the second fastest time in Juniata history. Ryan Bogdan (Buffalo, NY/Canisius) finished just behind in 5th place, also inching his way into Juniata's record book with his time of 1:56.30.

In the 5000-meter, Evan Ulrich (Homer, NY/Homer) placed 3rd with his time of 15:34.40. Conor Dimond (Summerhill, Pa./Forest Hills) followed in 4th place (15:41.31) with Nick Simpson (Silver Spring, Md./Albert Einstein) in 8th (15:51.56).

Desmond O'Donovan (Philadelphia, Pa./Science Leadership Academy) ran a time of 10:17.16 in the 3000-meter steeplechase to place 4th. In the 4x400-meter relay, the team of Bogdan, Sokirniy, Andrew Meci (Woodstock, NY/Onteora), and Storm Fridinger (Shippensburg, Pa./Shippensburg) finished 3rd with a time of 3:28.16.

Fridinger placed 3rd in the high jump, clearing a height of 1.83m. In javelin, John Randolph (Jonestown, Pa./Northern Lebanon) placed 4th with his throw of 45.69m. Andrew Paterno (Waynesboro, Pa./Waynesboro Area) followed in 5th place, measuring 43.73m. Paterno also placed 4th in shot put with his 12.59m throw.
