Several Top Results Recorded for Juniata Men at Landmark Championship

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Juniata men's track and field team ended day one of the Landmark Championships in second place overall. 

Evan Ulrich (Homer, NY/Homer) led the pack in the 10,000-meter race for a first-place finish, running a time of 33:10.30. Conor Dimond (Summerhill, Pa./Forest Hills) placed 2nd in the race with a time of 33:14.46, and Nicholas Simpson (Silver Spring, Md./Albert Einstein) followed behind in 7th (33:43.19).

In the 1500-meter race, Petro Sokirniy (Huntingdon Valley, Pa./Upper Moreland) placed second with his 4:03.74 time.

In the field, Andrew Paterno (Waynesboro, Pa./Waynesboro Area) also had a first place in the hammer event with a throw that measured 47.02m. Paterno also placed 4th in discus (39.61m) with Daniel Fernandez (Oxford, Pa./New Oxford) finishing in 6th (36.54m).

Nathan Chavis (Palmyra, Pa./Palmyra) cleared a height of 3.95m to place 4th in the pole vault. In the long jump, John Randolph (Jonestown, Pa./Northern Lebanon) placed 6th with a distance of 6.44m.

The team will compete again tomorrow in the second day of the Landmark Championships.
