Men's Track and Field Team Competes at Widener Invitational

CHESTER, Pa. – The Eagles competed at the Widener Invitational on Friday and Saturday.

In the field, Nathan Chavis (Palmyra, Pa./Palmyra) and Andrew Paterno (Waynesboro, Pa./Waynesboro Area) led the team with their performances. Chavis placed 2nd in the pole vault, clearing a height of 4.05m. Paterno threw a distance of 45.47m in the hammer event, granting him a 5th place finish. To round out the field events, John Randolph (Jonestown, Pa./Northern Lebanon) placed 16th in the long jump (5.91m).
 
Petro Sokirniy (Huntingdon Valley, Pa./Upper Moreland) finished in 12th place in the 1500-meter race with a time of 4:02.87. In the 800-meter, Ryan Bogdan (Buffalo, NY/Canisius) took 26th place with his 1:58.49 time.

Storm Fridinger (Shippensburg, Pa./Shippensburg) placed 20th in the 400-meter race, finishing with a time of 51.38. Fridinger, Bogdan, Sokirniy, and Andrew Meci (Woodstock, NY/Onteora) combined efforts to finish 10th in the 4x400-meter relay race with a time of 3:30.92.

Juniata will return to action next weekend at the Paul Kaiser Invitational at Shippensburg University.
