Eagles Earn Several Top-Five Finishes at Shippensburg Invite

SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Juniata men's track and field team competed at the 3rd Annual Shippensburg University Invite on Wednesday.

Storm Fridinger (Shippensburg, Pa./Shippensburg) had a big day for the Eagles, placing 3rd in the 200-meter dash with a time of 23.69. The junior also placed 3rd in the high jump event, clearing a height of 1.86m.
Senior Andrew Paterno (Waynesboro, Pa./Waynesboro Area) reached two personal records in the day's events, placing 3rd in the hammer with a throw that measured 47.82m and 4th in shot put (12.77m).

In the 800-meter race, Petro Sokirniy ((Huntingdon Valley, Pa./Upper Moreland) finished 4th, running a time of 1:58.71. Ryan Bogdan (Buffalo, NY/Canisius) and Andrew Meci (Woodstock, NY/Onteora) placed 9th and 12th in the race.

Freshman Evan Ulrich (Homer, NY/Homer) finished 4th in the 3000-meter race with a time of 9:03.29. Nicholas Simpson (Silver Spring, Md./Albert Einstein) ran a time of 9:17.94 to finish 7th and Conor Dimond (Summerhill, Pa./Forest Hills) was just behind in 8th place (9:23.09).

The Eagles will compete again this weekend at the Widener Invitational.
