Juniata's Men Pick Fourth in Landmark Preseason Poll

Towson, Md. - Juniata's men's track and field team was selected fourth in the Landmark Conference Men's Indoor Track & Field Preseason Poll, released Dec. 8.

Moravian sits atop the poll with 50 points and five first place votes. The Greyhounds are "looking for its eight straight Landmark Conference title," per Landmark. Behind them is Elizabethtown with 45 points, and one first place vote, then Susquehanna with 33 points.

The Eagles received 21 points, putting them at fourth. Catholic and Goucher rounded out the poll in a tie with 12 points each.

The Eagles competed in the River Hawk Opener on Saturday, Dec. 3, and had four top-three finishers in individual events. Andrew Paterno's 14.03-meter weight throw beat out his competition and put him in first place. Daniel Fernandez placed third in the weight throw (11-meters) and shot put (11.77-meters). 2016's Landmark Conference Second Team member (outdoor) Storm Fridinger tied for second place in the high jump with his 1.88-meter jump. Additionally, Nathan Chavis vaulted his way to fifth in the Juniata indoor record books.

After the break, Juniata will be competing in the Orange & Maroon Classic at Susquehanna on Jan. 21.
