Men's Track and Field Puts on Strong Showing at Paul Kaiser Classic

SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. -  The Juniata men's track and field team recorded several strong performances among Division II and III competitors at the Paul Kaiser Track and Field Classic Saturday. 

Storm Fridinger (Shippensburg, Pa. / Shippensburg) took 14th in the 400-meter dash with a time of 51.92 seconds. Evan MacMullin (Haverhill, Mass. / St. John's Prep) followed with a time of 53.56 seconds and a 25th place finish. 

Steven Guetzlaff (Schnecksville, Pa. / Parkland) finished the 800-meter run in 21st place at 1:58.74. 

In the 3000-meter run, Greg VanDongen (Churchville, N.Y. / Churchville-Chilli) placed 12th with a time of 9:21.96. 

Kevin Schofield (Madison, CT / Daniel Hand) finished seventh in the 5000-meter run at 16:11.51. 

Eagles' 4x100m team of David Spayde (Mount Joy, Pa. /Donegal), Trenton Barnes (Hopewell, Pa. / Northern Bedford), Fridinger and MacMullin finished ninth with a time of 46.26 seconds. 

Fridinger tied for sixth place in the high jump with a leap of 1.87m. 

In the long jump, Matthew Kinnebrew (Lansdowne, Va. / Stonebridge) finished in 23rd place at 6.01m. Kinnebrew took 20th in the triple at 12.11m.

Andrew Paterno (Waynesboro, Pa. / Waynesboro) finished in a tie for 24th in the shot put with a throw of 12.63m. Paterno took 17th in the discus at 38.58m and 14th in the hammer at 43.44m.

Jon Altland (York, Pa. / Central York) followed in the hammer at 33.88m and a 25th place finish.

In the javelin, Matt Matylewicz (York, Pa. / Central York) led Juniata with an 11th place finish at 50.41m. Altland finished just behind in 16th at 46.96m.
