Paterno and Krott Lead Eagles Track and Field at Widener Invitational

CHESTER, Pa. - The Juniata men's track and field team competed at Widener University on Friday and Saturday.

 

In the 1500m, Steven Guetzlaff (Schnecksville, Pa. / Parkland) placed 31st, running a time of 4:07.94. He was followed by Dmyto Kunstbeck (Altoona, Pa / Altoona) and Kevin Schofield (Madison, CT / Daniel Hand) in 66th and 67th place.

 

Storm Fridinger (Shippensburg, Pa. / Shippensburg) placed 27th in the 400m, finishing with a time of 51.67. In the 800m, Andrew Meci (Woodstock, NY / Onteora)) ran a time of 2:04.46, placing 52nd with Evan MacMullin (Haverhill, Mass. / St, John's Prep) following in 59th place with a time of 2:05.72. Lucas Simpson (Silver Spring, MD / Albert Einstein) also placed 72nd.

 

Fridinger also placed 46th in the 200m, running a time of 23.46. He was followed by Camden Kasik (Silver Spring, MD / Albert Einstein) and Trenton Barnes (Hopewell, Pa. / Northern Bedford) in 54th and 55th place.

 

In the 3000m steeplechase, Jacob Krott (Temple, Pa./Muhlenberg) placed 8th with a time of 10:30.25. Eric Savarese (Oley, Pa. / Oley Valley) placed 13th in the event as well.

 

In the field events, Andrew Paterno (Waynesboro, Pa./Waynesboro) placed 7th in discus, throwing a distance of 39.85m. Paterno also placed 12th in the hammer event with a throw that measured a distance of 41.45m.

 

Paterno rounded out his day to finish 22nd in shot put, reaching a distance of 11.81m. Bryce Dupes (Elverson, Pa. / Agora Cyber Charter School) placed 23rd in the event.

 

In the triple jump, Matthew Kinnebrew (Landsdowne, Va./Stonebridge) placed 25th with a jump that measured 12.08m.

 

The Eagles will compete at the Paul Kaiser Invitational next Saturday, April 20.
