Men's Track and Field Has Top Results at Greyhound Invitational

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Juniata men's track and field team competed at Moravian College on Friday and Saturday.

 

Junior Andrew Paterno (Waynesboro, Pa. / Waynesboro) led the team in the field events with a10th place finish in the hammer throw, reaching a distance of 45.37m. He also placed 21st in discus with a distance of 37.57 and 25th in shot put with a throw of 12.07m.

 

In javelin, freshman Matt Matylewicz (York Pa. / Central York) placed 24th, throwing a distance of 44.97m. Senior Jon Altland (York, Pa. / Central York) followed right behind in 26th place in the event.

 

Senior Jacob Krott (Temple, Pa. / Muhlenberg) was 14th in the 3000m steeplechase event with a time of 10:36.71. In the 1500m, junior Steven Guetzlaff (Schnecksville, Pa. / Parkland) finished with a time of 4:06.05 in 16th place. Junior Petro Sokirniy (Huntington Valley, Pa. / Upper Moreland) followed in 26th place.

 

In the 400m, junior Storm Fridinger (Shippensburg, Pa. / Shippensburg) placed 18th with a time of 50.63.  Freshman Andrew Meci (Woodstock, NY / Onteora) came in 52nd in the 800m with sophomore Lucas Simpson in 53rd place, respectively.

 

The Eagles will return to action on April 20 at Shippensburg University.
