Kinnebrew Earns Rookie of the Year Honors, Paces Juniata to Fourth Place Finish

SELINSGROVE, Pa. - The Juniata men's track and field team took fourth at the Landmark Conference Indoor Championships Saturday.

Matthew Kinnebrew (Lansdowne, Va. / Stonebridge) received the Landmark Rookie of the Year award after a great performance throughout the season and at the meet. Kinnebrew finished 2nd in the triple jump, reaching a distance of 13.04 and gaining a 4th place spot in the Juniata record books. He also jumped a distance of 6.51 in the long jump, finish 4th and cleared a height of 1.88m in the high jump, placing 2nd. Sophomore Storm Fridinger (Shippenburg, PA / Shippensburg) also cleared a height of 1.88m, finishing 4th. 

In shot put, Andrew Paterno (Waynesboro, Pa. / Waynesboro) finished 7th with a distance of 12.60m.

Jacob Krott (Temple, Pa. / Muhlenberg), Evan MacMullin (Haverhill, Mass. / St. John's Prep), Andy Meci (Woodstock, N.Y. / Onteora) and Petro Sokirniy (Huntingdon Valley, Pa. / Upper Moreland) teamed up to finish 4th in the distance medley relay with a time of 11:04.99. In the 400m, Andrew Meci ran a time of 55.68 and finished 11th. 

Junior Steven Guetzlaff (Schnecksville, Pa. / Parkland) finished 3rd in the 800m with a time of 2:00.7. Guetzlaff's time positioned him in the 4th place spot in the Juniata record books.

Junior Conor Dimond (Summerhill, Pa. / Forest Hills) also inched his way into the record books, gaining a 3rd place spot with a 2nd place finish in the 3000m. Dimond finished with a time of 8:59.41

The team begins their outdoor season on March 19 at home at the Juniata Invitational.
