SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Freshman Storm Fridinger (Shippensburg, PA / Shippensburg) led the Juniata men's track and field team at the Susquehanna Open with two top-10 performances Saturday.
Fridinger placed 9th in the high jump, clearing a height of 1.78m. Fridinger also placed 15th in the 400m race, running a time of 54.15 and inching his way into the 5th place spot for the event in the Juniata record books.
Fridinger combined efforts with Trenton Barnes (Hopewell, PA / Northern Bedford), Camden Kasik (Silver Spring, MD / Albert Einstein), and Evan MacMullin (Haverhill, Mass. / St. John's Prep) in the 4x200, finishing with a time of 1:37.98 and placing 8th. Barnes also placed 17th in the 200m dash with a time of 24.15.
In the one mile run, Conor Dimond (Summerhill, PA / Forest Hills) placed 11th, running a time of 4:39.99. He was followed by Greg VanDongen (Churchville, N.Y. / Churchville-Chilli) in 19th place and Dima Kunstbeck (Altoona, PA / Altoona) in 25th place.
Kevin Schofield (Madison, CT / Daniel Hand) placed 11th in the 3000m run with a time of 9:26.80. He was followed by Jacob Krott (Temple, PA / Muhlenberg) in 16th place and Ben Martin (New Holland, PA / Garden Spot) in 18th.
Steven Guetzlaff (Schnecksville, PA / Parkland) ran a time of 2:03.24 in the 800m, placing 14th. Andy Meci (Woodstock, NY / Onteora) followed in 28th place with a time of 2:07.06.
The team will return to action next Saturday, Feb. 27, for the Landmark Conference Championships. Competition will begin at 11a.m.
