Distance Events Pave Way for Men's Track and Field at O&M

Selinsgrove, Pa. – The Juniata men's indoor track and field team returned to action at the Susquehanna Indoor Orange and Maroon Classic Friday.

Junior Andrew Paterno (Waynesboro, Pa. / Onteora) placed fifth in the weight throw, reaching a distance of 12.95m. Paterno also placed eighth in shot put, followed by sophomore Micah McConnell (Patton, Pa. / Cambria Heights) in 11th place. Sophomore Storm Fridinger (Shippensburg, Pa. / Shippensburg) placed fifth in the high jump event, clearing a height of 1.78m.

Evan MacMullin (Haverhill, Mass. / St. John's Prep), Andy Meci (Woodstock, NY / Onteora), Petro Sokirniy, and Conor Dimond (Summerhill, Pa. / Forest Hills) ran a time of 11:20.69 in the distance medley, finishing second. Seniors Greg VanDongen (Churchville, NY / Churchville-Chilli) and Jacob Krott (Temple, Pa. / Muhlenberg) finished second and thirdrespectively in their heat of the one mile run, followed by Lucas Simpson in fifth.

The team will compete next weekend at the Bison Open at Bucknell University.
