Men’s Track and Field Places Fourth at Landmark Championships

SELINSGROVE, PA- The men's track and field team finished up competition at the Landmark Championships hosted by Susquehanna. The Eagles placed fourth with a total of 68 points. The overall winner was Moravian with 294 points. The host Cruaders were second with 152 points and Elizabethtown came in third with 146.

 

Tyler Mandley (Altoona, PA/Altoona Area) had the highest result of the day as he was second in the 400-meter hurdles. His time of 55.55 was just .23 of a second behind the winner Gavin Bailey of Moravian.

 

Steven Guetzlaff (Schnecksville, PA/Parkland) had a pair of top-five finishes. He was third in the 5,000 meter run with a final time of 15:22.05 and was fifth in the 800 meter run in a sub-two minute time of 1:56.35

 

The 4x100 relay team of Davon Jackson (Deptford, NJ/Deptford Township), Jaie Johnson (Reading, PA/Reading), AJ Hutchison (Loveland, CO/Greeley Central), and Trenton Barnes (Hopewell, PA/Northern Bedford) were fourth in 44.34.

 

In the field, Andrew Paterno (Waynesboro, PA/Waynesboro) had a measure of 42.23 meters in the hammer throw that was good for fifth place. Nathan Chavis (Palmyra, PA/Palmyra) was fifth in the pole vault with a measurement of 3.80 meters. He also came in ninth in the triple jump (12.31 meters). Jon Atland (York, PA/Central York) came in sixth in the javelin throw as his lob went 48.72 meters.
