Men’s and Women’s Track Compete at Susquehanna Open

SELINSGROVE, Pa., This weekend, the Juniata College men's and women's track and field teams competed in their final indoor meet before the Landmark Conference Championships. The Eagles continued to have a successful season with members of both teams placing in the top 10.

 

Women

 

Chelsea Beaver (Shamokkin Dam, PA / Selinsgrove Area) finished 10th in the women's weight throw (11.54m) and 11th in the shot put. Alyssa Sellers (Huntingdon, PA / Huntingdon Area) tied for 6th in the long jump (4.68m), while Kaitlyn Cosby (Frederick, MD / Frederick) and Katelyn Fisher (Rochester, NY / Greece Athena) placed 8th an 6th in the triple and high jump respectively. Haley Schneider (West Chester, PA / Bishop Shanahan) and Allyson Kopera (Hastings, PA / Northern Cambria) finished in the top 20 in their events. Schneider was 17th in the one mile run, with Kopera coming in 15th in the 3000m run.

 

Men

 

Andrew Paterno (Waynesboro, PA / Waynesbor) placed 5th in the weight throw (13.14m) and 13th in the shot put. Nathan Chavis (Plmyra, PA / Palmyra) was 6th in the high jump (12.33m) and 11th in the high jump. Jaie Johnson (Reading, PA / Reading HS) earned 4th and 6th place finishes in the 60m and 200m dash. Matt Guetzlaff (Schnecksville, PA / Parkland) and Conor Dimond (Summerhill, PA / Forest Hills) finished in the top 10 in the 3000m run. Guetzlaff completed the event in a time of 8:52.54 to place third, while Dimond just missed the top five at six. Stephen Park (State College , PA / State College) finished placed 13th in 1 mile run (4:38.08).

 

The team's will be back in action at the Landmark Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships on the 28th. The Meet will again be held at Susquehanna.
