Morgantown, WV, The Juniata College Men and Women's Indoor Track and Field teams opened their season at the Marty Pushkin Track Classic in West Virginia on Saturday.
Women
Kaitlyn Cosby finished 2nd in the 60m hurdles with a time of 10.77 seconds. Alissa Sellers (Huntingdon, PA / Huntingdon) placed 10th in the long jump, while Katelyn Fisher (Rochester, NY / Greece Athena) trailed at 11th. Sellers and Cosby finished 7th and 8th in the triple jump. Cheslea Beaver (Shamokin Dam, PA / Selinsgrove Area) finished 5th in the shot put.
Men
Trenton Barnes (Hopewell, PA / Northern Bedford) ran the 60m dash in 7.45 seconds to place 8th overall. Jaie Johnson and Davon Jackson finished 2nd and 4th in the 3rd heat of the 200m dash. Johnson placed 4th overall in the event. Tyler Mandley (Altoona, PA / Altoona) ran the 60m hurdles in 8.95 to place first overall
The Juniata 4 x 400 relay team ran a time of 3:40.87 to place 2nd overall in the event. Nathan Chavis came in 6th in the long jump (5.76m) and triple jump (11.33m). Garette Lavelle (Eden, NY / Eden) finished 3rd in the weight throw (11.59m).
Juniata will continue its season at the Orange and Maroon Classic at Susquehanna on January 16th.
