Men’s Outdoor Track & Field Competes at Widener Invite

CHESTER, Pa. – The Juniata College men's track & field team competed both Friday and Saturday at the Widener Invitational. For the second straight week, Juniata's top finisher was junior Tyler Mandley (Altoona, Pa./Altoona Area).

 

Mandley won the 110 meter hurdles in a career best time of 15.64 seconds. In the 400 meter hurdles, Mandley finished fourth in 56.79 seconds.

 

Freshman Trenton Barnes (Hopewell, Pa./Northern Bedford) finished 11th in the 200 meter dash in a personal best time of 23.22 seonds. Barnes also competed in the 100 meter dash and placed 12th.

 

Senior Connor Robinson (Asheville, N.C./Asheville) finished 29th in the 800 meter run to place in the top half of the field. In the 1500 meter run, sophomore Matt Guetzlaff (Schnecksville, Pa./Parkland) was Juniata's top finisher. He placed 30th out of 80 runners in a time of 4:07.62.

 

In the shot put, freshman Andrew Paterno (Waynesboro, Pa./Waynesboro) placed fifth and classmate Bryce Dupes (Elverson, Pa./Agora Cyber Charter School) finished eighth. Paterno also placed eighth in the discus.

 

The Eagles next compete on Saturday, April 26 at the Paul Kaiser Invitational hosted by Shippensburg University before heading to the Landmark Conference Outdoor Championships beginning on Saturday, May 3.
