HUNTINGDON, Pa. – The Juniata College men's track & field team finished a successful indoor season by placing third at the 2014 Landmark Indoor Track & Field Championships. This marked the fifth time in seven years that the men placed third overall.

The distance medley relay team of sophomore Matt Guetzlaff (Schnecksville, Pa./Parkland), senior Connor Robinson (Asheville, N.C./Asheville), sophomore R.J. Bogdan (Buffalo, N.Y./Canisius High School), and freshman Petro Sokirniy (Huntingdon Valley, Pa./Upper Moreland) gave the Eagles their fourth win in the event at the championship meet, but the first since 2010. The foursome won the relay over six seconds ahead of the nearest team in a time of 10:54.49. All four men were named First Team All-Landmark for their efforts in the event.

The 4x200 meter relay team of junior Tyler Mandley (Altoona, Pa./Altoona Area) and freshmen Trenton Barnes (Hopewell, Pa./Northern Bedford), Charlton Exley (Royersford, Pa./Spring-Ford), and Davon Jackson (Deptford, N.J./Deptford Township) placed second overall in 1:37.87, earning Second Team All-Conference honors.

A total of six student-athletes found themselves among the program's all-time top five performers. Robinson broke the school record in the 500 meters at the Bucknell Open on Feb. 1 in a time of 1:10.15. Senior Nate Alter (Pittsburgh, Pa./Taylor Allderdice) and Guetzlaff are second and third, respectively, in the 3000 meter run and third and fourth in the 5000 meter run. Mandley is ranked fourth overall in the 60 meter hurdles. In the shot put, freshman Andrew Paterno (Waynesboro, Pa./Waynesboro) is the fourth best performer, while sophomore Garrett Lavelle (Eden, N.Y./Eden Jr./Sr. High School) sits in fifth for the weight throw.
