HUNTINGDON, Pa. – The Juniata College men's track & field team is hoping to build on a third place finish at the 2014 Landmark Indoor Track & Field Championships as they head into the outdoor season. The Eagles placed fourth at the outdoor championships last season and are looking to move up the ranks.

The Juniata men will begin the season third, based on the preseason poll as voted on by the league's coaches. The Eagles rounded out the top half of the Landmark by accumulating 27 points.

Reigning champion Moravian earned the top spot with 50 points and five first place votes, while returning athletes that combined for 14 All-Landmark honors last year. Susquehanna picked up the remaining first place vote to finish second in the poll with 38 points.

Juniata does not return any All-Landmark athletes from last year, but will look to its strong core of runners. Senior Nate Alter (Pittsburgh, Pa./Taylor Allderdice) and sophomore Matt Guetzlaff (Schnecksville, Pa./Parkland) will lead the team in the distance events, while junior Tyler Mandley (Altoona, Pa./Altoona Area) will be a contender in the hurdles.

The Eagles begin the season when they host the Juniata Invitational on Saturday, March 22.
