SELINSGROVE, Pa. – The Juniata College men's track & field team competed at the Susquehanna Open Saturday. The Eagles were led by several strong individual performances.

Freshman Xavier Cachon (Bala Cynwyd, Pa./Lower Merion) won the 5000 meter run. He captured victory in a time of 16:33.61. In the 3000, senior Nate Alter (Pittsburgh, Pa./Taylor Allderdice) placed second with a career best time 9:02.30. Freshman Reese Marrero (Austin, Texas/Westlake) came in 11^th in 9:23.50.

Junior Tyler Mandley (Altoona, Pa./Altoona Area) placed third overall in the 60 meter hurdles with a career best time of 8.86. In the 800 meter run, sophomore Matt Guetzlaff (Schnecksville, Pa./Parkland) placed fourth in a personal best 2:04.00 and senior Connor Robinson (Asheville, N.C./Asheville) placed 11^th overall in 2:04.86.

In the shot put, freshman Andrew Paterno (Waynesboro, Pa./Waynesboro) placed eight overall with a throw of 12.83m. Senior Zach Doyle (Altoona, Pa./Bellwood-Antis) came in 14^th in the shot put. In the weight throw, three Eagles placed in the top 15. Sophomore Garrett Lavelle (Eden, N.Y./Eden Jr./Sr. High School), senior Steve Kidhardt (New Holland, Pa./Garden Spot), and Doyle placed 11^th, 13^th, and 14^th, respectively.

The Eagles next compete in the Landmark Conference Championship hosted by Susquehanna University on Saturday, March 1.
