Men’s Track & Field Fairs Well at Susquehanna Invite

SELINSGROVE, Pa. – The Juniata College men's track & field team traveled to compete at the Susquehanna University Invitational Friday. Sophomore Matt Guetzlaff (Schnecksville, Pa./Parkland) was the highest finisher on the night. He placed fourth overall in the 300 meter run. His 9:04.24 time placed him as the third best performer in the event in program history.

 

In the 1 mile run, senior Nate Alter (Pittsburgh, Pa./Taylor Allderdice) finished fifth overall in a career best time of 4:35.42. Freshman Petro Sokirniy (Huntingdon Valley, Pa./Upper Moreland) placed 11th in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:03.16.

 

Junior Tyler Mandley (Altoona, Pa./Altoona Area) finished ninth in the 60 meter hurdles. In the 200 meter dash, sophomore Michael Roth (Frederick, Md./Urbana High School) placed 15th overall.

 

In the field, freshman Andrew Paterno (Waynesboro, Pa./Waynesboro) threw a mark of 12.77m to finish ninth overall in the shot put. Senior Justin Herr (Mountain Top, Pa./Crestwood) placed 11th in the long jump with a leap of 12.05m.

 

The Eagles next compete in the Susquehanna Open on Saturday, Feb. 22.
