
HUNTINGDON, Pa. – The Juniata men's tennis program beat the Royals of Scranton 6-3 Friday evening at Raffensberger Tennis Courts. The team also celebrated their seniors: Utsav Deravariya, Basile Gandon, and Ezenna Emuka prior to the match.
In doubles play, Arsen Tabaldyev and Arthur DeYoung beat their opponents in extra points 87-75. Adrián Di Benedetto Vásquez and Gandon won 8-2 in second doubles, while Deravariya and Emuka dropped 6-8 in third doubles.
In singles play, Tabaldyev beat his opponent 6-3, 4-0 in first singles as Di Benedetto Vásquez won 6-1, 6-1 in second singles. Gandon dropped third singles, 0-6, 2-6, but DeYoung came out on top 6-1, 6-4 in fourth singles. Ross Conway dropped fifth singles 3-6, 6-7, but Dillon Murphy beat his opponent 6-3, 3-0.
The Eagles return to the Landmark Conference playoffs for the first time since 2020-21 and will compete in the quarterfinals on Wednesday.
