ORLANDO, Fla.- The Juniata men's tennis team opened their spring break trip to the UTSA National Tennis Center against Birmingham Southern, falling 0-9.
Arsen Tabaldyev and Ross Conway paired for first doubles and lost 1-8. Basile Gandon and Adrián Di Benedetto Vásquez fell 1-8 in second doubles, while Arthur DeYoung and Ezenna Emuka were defeated 2-8 in third doubles.
Utsav Deravariya and Dillon Murphy played in an exhibition doubles match but were defeated 3-8.
Tabalydev competed in first singles in a 4-6, 0-6 defeat, while Gandon lost in second singles 1-6, 0-6. Di Benedetto Vásquez lost in third singles 2-6, 4-6, and Conway was defeated 1-6, 2-6 in fourth singles. DeYoung lost 0-6, 2-6, while Murphy lost 0-6, 1-6.
Deravariya and Emuka each played an exhibition singles contest, with Deravariya falling 0-8 and Emuka 1-8.
The Juniata men's tennis team continues their trip tomorrow morning as they face Belhaven at 10:00 am.
