Men's Tennis Competed in Allegheny Invitational Day Two

MEADVILLE, Pa.- The Juniata men's tennis team concluded the Allegheny Invitational on the second day of the invite this Sunday.  

The Eagles competed in eight singles matches and two doubles matches on Sunday. 

Arsen Tabaldyev wrapped up his debut weekend with a 4-6, 6-2, 10-6 victory, ending the weekend 4-0 overall and 3-0 in three-set tiebreakers. Francisco Aran's lone singles match of the day was a 6-2, 6-4 victory. He ended the weekend not dropping a set in singles competition. The duo fell 3-6 in doubles competition on Sunday, but they ended the weekend 3-1 overall in doubles play. 

Basile Gandon split the day in singles matches, securing a 6-2, 6-2 singles win but falling 7-5, 2-6, 5-10. His doubles partner for the day, Arthur DeYoung, lost 0-6, 1-6. Their doubles match saw a 3-6 defeat. Gandon ends the weekend 2-1 in singles play, while DeYoung went 1-1, each securing a three-set tiebreaker win once. 

Three Eagles competed in just one singles match on Sunday. Dillon Murphy was defeated, 3-6, 3-6, Ezenna Emuka fell 2-6, 4-6, and Utsav Deravariya lost 2-6, 2-6. 

The Juniata men's tennis team returns to action this Saturday, September 9th, as they host DeSales at the Raffensperger Tennis Courts. The match begins at 1:00 pm.
