ALTOONA, Pa.- The Juniata men's tennis team defeated Penn St.-Altoona, 9-0 to open up their spring season.
Roy Liberman (Montevideo, Uruguay / EIHU) and Dan Ansel (Lancaster, Pa. / Manheim Township) won, 8-5 at first doubles. Jason Gerber (Commack, N.Y. / Commack High School) and Owen Grafe (Newton, Mass. / Newton North) won, 8-3 at second doubles. Seth Strawser (Richfield, Pa. / Juniata HS) and Rob Kauffman (Broomall, Pa. / Marple Newtown) won, 8-3 at third doubles.
Ilia Buralkin (Moscow, Russia / -) won 6-1, 6-2 at first singles, Liberman won 6-4, 6-7, 10-7 at second singles, and Grafe won 6-1, 6-1 at third singles. Gerber won 6-1, 6-0 at fourth singles, Matthew Munoz (Worthington, Ohio. / Findlay HS) won 6-2, 6-0 at fifth singles, and Strawser won 6-0, 6-0 at sixth singles.
The Eagles will travel to St. Vincent, Friday February 22nd at 4:00 PM.
