ALTOONA, Pa.- For the second straight time match, the Juniata men's tennis team had to move indoors at the Summit Tennis and Athletic Club in Altoona Pa. Visiting Goucher led 2-1 after doubles play and won three matches in singles to take the Landmark Championship 5-1.

This was the third straight year that the two teams have met in the title match. Juniata won in 2015 5-3 while the Gophers took last year's crown 5-2 in Towson, Md.

Juniata's lone win came at first doubles. Dean Polisena (Adelaida, Australia/Saint Ignatius) and Roy Liberman (Montevideo, Uruguay/EIHU) were 8-4 winners over Michael Herman and Elliot Diehl.

Goucher claimed second and third singles to go ahead 4-1. Polisena won 6-1 in the first set against Jack Hodges but lost in the second 6-2. Hodges took the third set 6-0 to clinch the championship for the Gophers.

Juniata ends its season at 9-3 overall. Polisena is the lone senior who graduates as the Eagles retain most of their lineup for next season.
