Men’s Tennis Defeats Penn State-Altoona

ALTOONA, Pa.- The Juniata men's tennis team played Penn-State Altoona in a non-conference match on Tuesday afternoon. The Eagles had no trouble with the Lions as they won by the score of 8-1.

 

Dan Ansel (Lancaster, Pa./Manheim Township) and Owen Grafe (Newton, Mass./Newton North) paired up for the first time this season and won 8-1 over the duo of Carlos Cevallos and Jonathan D'Arcy at second doubles. Mike Lifshitz (Worcester, Mass./Worcester Academy) and Logan Moore (Chadds Ford, Pa./Unionville) were victors at third doubles over Thomas Graden/Tony Vergari 8-1.

 

Bryan Gregory (Glen Mills, Pa./Garnet Valley) played at first singles for the first time in 2016 and was a 6-1, 6-1 winner against Connor Saltzer. Newcomer Rory Donaldson picked up his first collegiate victory with a 6-1, 6-4 win over Eric Brought at sixth singles. Also getting wins were Moore, Ansel, and Lifshitz.

 

Juniata returns to Landmark competition this Friday when it travels to Elizabethtown to play the Blue Jays. Start time for the match will be at 2:00 p.m.
