Men’s Tennis Knocks off Susquehanna 7-2

HUNTINGDON, Pa.- The Juniata men's tennis team hosted Susquehanna in a Landmark Conference match on Wednesday afternoon. The Eagles had no trouble with the Crusaders as they won by the score of 7-2. Juniata evens its record at 6-6 overall and improves to 2-0 in the conference.

 

JC took all three doubles matches to go up 3-0. Dean Polisena (Adelaide, Australia/Saint Ignatius) paired up with Jason Gerber (Commack, N.Y./Commack) and the two defeated Ben Ornstein and Ryan Seibert 8-2. Dan Ansel (Lancaster, Pa./Manheim Township) and Daichi McAuliffe-Uchida (Wantage, N.J./High Point Regional HS) teamed up to defeat Nicholas Meals and Alexander Cocolas 8-2. The pair of Logan Moore (Chadds Ford, Pa./Unionville) and Mike Lifshitz (Worcester, Mass./Worcester Academy) were winners against Alexander Dove and Ryan Van Valin 8-0.

 

In singles play, Polisena defeated Ornstein 6-2, 6-0. Roy Liberman (Montevideo, Uruguay/EIHU) won his fifth match in a row and ninth overall with a 6-2, 6-2 triumph over Seibert. Bryan Gregory (Glen Mills, Pa./Garnet Valley) kept his winning streak going with a 6-0, 6-0 win against Meale. Sam Wherley (State College, Pa./State College) won his first collegiate match 6-3, 6-1 over Alexander Cocalas at fourth singles.

 

Juniata travels to Elizabethtown on Saturday to play the Blue Jays. Match time is at 1:00 p.m.
