HUNTINGDON, PA- The Landmark Conference announced its selection for men’s tennis athlete of the week. Freshman Sho Sato (Shiga, Japan) was bestowed with the honor.
Sato won all four of his matches to claim the championship in the B7 draw at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Championships this past weekend. He never lost more than three games in any of the four matches that he competed in defeating players from Shenandoah, St. Mary’s (Md.), Salisbury, and Grove City. He defeated his first opponent 6-0, 6-3 to move on to the quarterfinals where he advanced to the semifinals with a 6-2, 6-1 triumph. Sato prevailed 6-2, 6-0 in semifinals and 6-1 6-2 in finals.
