Princeton, NJ, Men’s and Women’s head coach Jason Cohen was named the USPTA Middle States Coach of the Year at an awards banquet Friday night. Last season the men’s team went 17-2, going undefeated in Landmark play during the regular season, and earning the number one seed in the conference tournament. The team set program records in singles wins and wins, coming just one match shy of being crowned conference champions. The women’s team finished with an 11-6 dual match record and earned another 4th seed in the Landmark tournament.

The USPTA was founded in 1927 and is the world's oldest and largest association of tennis-teaching professionals and has more than 15,000 members worldwide. Pictured along sign Cohen is Executive Director Tim Irwin (left) and USPTA Middle States division President Anthony DeCecco (right).

On receiving this great recognition, the coach exclaimed, “It is definitely humbling and a great honor to receive this award from the USPTA. Despite the fact that my name is on the award, it is great that Juniata tennis is being recognized and others are taking note of the recent success we have had. As it is with any award I would receive, it is not solely for me, as I would be nowhere without my teams and the hard work they put in daily. I am thankful for their belief in me and desire to improve to become a championship caliber team.”
