SKILLMAN, N.J – The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) has announced the 2014 Scholar-Athletes and three Juniata College men's tennis players have earned the honor: recent graduate Elliott Perow (Huntingdon, Pa. / Huntingdon), rising senior Max Weiss (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Fox Chapel Area), and rising junior Mike Lifshitz (Worcester, Mass. / Worcester Academy). This is the third such honor for Perow and the second for both Lifshitz and Weiss.

To qualify for the award, a student-athlete must be a varsity letter winner, have a grade point average of at least a 3.5 (on a 4.0 scale) for the current academic year, and have been enrolled at their current institution for at least two semesters.

All there players were members of the 2014 Juniata men's tennis team that set a program record for wins with an overall mark of 17-2, finished undefeated in regular season match play against Landmark Conference opponents, and capped off the year with a second place finish in the league tournament, reaching the championship match for the first time in program history.

Perow, a team co-captain, was named the teams' most valuable player and earned his second Second-Team All-Landmark selection for singles play, finishing 16-7 on the year. He teamed up with Lifshitz for a 16-2 record in doubles plays with a 6-1 conference mark. Weiss earned a 6-1, 6-3 win at the No. 4 singles position against Penn State-Altoona on April 1.
