Men's Swimming Returns to Action at Stevenson Dual Meet

OWINGS MILLS, Md.- The Juniata men's swimming team returned with its first competition of the new year as they faced Stevenson and Lebanon Valley in a dual meet at Stevenson. They were defeated 155-12 by hosts Stevenson and 153-13 against Lebanon Valley. 

Jay Gajiwala was fifth out of nine competing in the 500-yard freestyle, finishing in 27.66 and besting his previous top mark of 28.90. Gajiwala was also seventh in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:25.52. 

Isaac March competed in a pair of events, including the 100-yard freestyle and 100-yard breaststroke. In the 100-yard freestyle, he logged a 1:05.16 to claim fifth place, while he was seventh in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:26.30.  

Matthew Tiernan finished in sixth place in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:34.32. 

The Juniata men's swimming team returns to competition this Saturday, January 20th, as they head to Wilkes for a dual meet also featuring Lycoming for a pair of Landmark Conference matchups.
