Men's Swimming Totals Five Best Times, Mona Breaks JC 400 IM Record

GERMANTOWN, Md.-The Juniata men's swim team totaled five best times on the second day of Landmark Conference championships. The men currently sit in eighth place with 111 points.

Freshman, Hunter Mona (State College, Pa. / State College Area) had another outstanding performance on day two of conference championships. Mona broke the Juniata record in the 400 IM with a time of 4:22.23, he placed fourth in finals in the evening. 

In tonight's finals, the team of Mona, Martin Berger (Huntingdon, Pa. / Huntingdon Area), Dima Kunstbeck (Altoona, Pa. / Altoona Area HS), and Jackson Hoch (Carlisle, Pa. / Carlisle) placed eighth in the 200 medley relay. The team touched the wall at 1:49.50. Freshman, Evan Walker (Versailles, Pa. / East Allegheny) claimed 16th in the 100 butterfly, touching the wall at 58.41. In the 800 free relay, Mona, Kunstbeck, Hoch, and Walked took the sixth spot, finishing with a time of 7:54.72. 

During prelims this morning, Kunstbeck placed 17th in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:56.84. In the 100 breaststroke, Berger finished 22nd (1:06.75) while Kunstbeck finished 24th (1:08.35). Nicholas Gerencser (Lititz, Pa. / Warwick) placed 27th in the 100 breaststoke with a time of 1:22.47

Mona, Walker, Kunstbeck, Gerencser, and Berger all swam lifetime best times today. 

The Eagles will wrap up Landmark Conference championships, tomorrow starting at 10:00AM. Finals will begin at 5:00PM.
