Mona Named Landmark Athlete of the Week

TOWSON, Md.- Juniata men's swimming standout, Hunter Mona (State College, Pa. / State College Area) was named Landmark Conference Athlete of the Week.

Mona claimed two first place finishes and a second place in the 400 freestyle relay, in the Eagles win over Penn St.-Altoona, Friday. The team defeated the Lions, 99-80.

Mona clocked in at 1:53.76 in the 200 freestyle. In the 500 freestyle, Mona had a record breaking performance coming in with a time of 5:01.77. Mona broke the Juniata team record by ten seconds. The previous 500 freestyle record was set in 1992 and was 5:11.94. In the 400 freestyle relay, Mona's team finished with a time of 3:50.31, Mona split a 53:46. 

This is the first men's swimmer in Juniata program history to be named Landmark Athlete of the Week. 

The Eagles will travel to Elizabethtown on December 1st for a meet. Meet time is set for 1:00PM.
