Eagles Complete Day Two of Landmark Championships

GERMANTOWN, Md.- The Juniata men's and women's swim teams completed day two of Landmark Championships with some appearances in finals, Saturday evening.

In the first event of the evening, the quartet of Krista Peachey (Hummelstown, Pa. / Lower Dauphin), Meghan Brubaker (Lancaster, Pa. / Lampeter-Strasburg), Alex Fontes (Plymouth, Mass. / Sturgis), and Emily Angeline (Harrisburg, Pa. / Central Dauphin East) placed eighth in the 200 medley relay. 

In the 400 IM consolation final, Brubaker shaved off five seconds from her prelims swim going 5:32.31. Fontes competed in the 100 butterfly consolation, final placing 14th with a time of 1:03.57 while Peachey just missed the finals placing 17th with a time of 1:07.12. 

Jackson Hoch (Carlisle, Pa. / Carlisle) placed 19th in the 200 freestyle finishing with a time of 2:02.56. Angeline finished 28th in the 200 freestyle. In the 100 breaststroke, Martin Berger (Huntingdon, Pa. / Huntingdon Area) just missed out swimming in finals placing, 17th with a time of 1:07.68. 

Fontes placed 19th in the 100 breaststroke coming in with a time of 1:15.33. In the 100 backstroke, Peachey placed 23rd with a time of 1:07.86. 

The Eagles return tomorrow to conclude the final day of Landmark Conference Championships beginning at 10:00am for prelims. Finals will start at 5:00pm.
