John Gonzalez Appointed Assistant Men's Soccer Coach

HUNTINGDON, Pa.- Head men's soccer coach Brendan Grady is thrilled to have named John Gonzalez as assistant men's soccer coach.

Gonzalez has most recently served as the associate head coach for the SUNY Morrisville men's soccer team for the past two seasons and the head coach of the Syracuse Rush Academy 08 and 09 boys soccer teams since January 2021. Before being named associate head coach at SUNY Morrisville, he was an assistant coach in the 2021 season and a volunteer assistant coach in the fall 2020 semester.

Head Coach Brendan Grady stated, "We are excited to welcome John Gonzalez to campus. He is a proven recruiter and has an excellent coaching brain. His ability to build relationships with his players separated him from a competitive field. John is a young coach who is going places and will help us immediately as we push up the mountain."

Gonzalez was a two-year member of the SUNY Canton men's soccer team, playing as a defender. Prior to that, he played two seasons at Mohawk Valley Community College.

Gonzalez graduated from SUNY Canton with a Bachelor of Arts in Legal Studies in 2020. He expects to complete a Master of Arts in Athletic Leadership at Rider University this December.
