Rangers Edge Eagles

Rangers Edge Eagles

MADISON, N.J.- The Juniata men's soccer team lost on the road at Drew University, 1-0, on a wet and rainy Sunday afternoon at Ranger Stadium.

It was a busy opening 20 minutes for Axel Grater, as he made three saves and several ranger shots whizzed past the goal.

In the eighth minute, Nathan Weick ripped a shot on frame for the Eagles, but the Drew goalie managed to save it.

Jayden Gaynor tested the host's keeper in the 29th minute, but again, they were up to the challenge.

Drew broke through in the 35th minute, as a cross from the right wing came to their forward, who smashed it home to make it 1-0.

Grater made two more stops the rest of the half as JC trailed 1-0 at the break.

Weick and Harshaan Grewal had the Eagles' best shots of the second half seconds apart in the 84th minute, but both headed attempts went wide of the goal.

Juniata will host Carnegie Mellon on Tuesday at 7:30.
