HUNTINGDON, Pa. – The men's soccer team conceded one goal in each half hosting Goucher at Gibbel Stadium Saturday afternoon. 

The Gophers dominated in shots in the first half, 9-2, with their first shot being saved by Axel Grater in less than a minute of the first whistle. Amo Mashigo was able to fire a shot on goal in the fourth minute, but it was saved by the Goucher keeper. The Gophers were able to find the back of the net early in the tenth minute of play. Juniata's last shot of the first half came from Blake Cassel but was also stopped by the Gopher keeper in the 13th minute. Goucher took seven more shots in the first half, with three going high and four being saved by Grater. 

The Gophers doubled their score in the 61st minute of play. Emmet Young made Juniata's last attempt in the 78th minute but missed high. 

The Eagles were unsuccessful in making another attempt against the Gopher defense. Harshaan Grewal made a key defensive save off a Gopher deflection during a corner kick in the 82nd minute to prevent a third goal. Grater finished with eight saves on the day.

The Juniata men's soccer team will host Susquehanna on Wednesday, October 19, at 7:00 pm.
