Eagles Score Four in the Second Half to Beat Cougars

HUNTINGDON, Pa.- The Juniata men's soccer team tallied four second-half goals on their way to a 5-2 win at Chatham, Saturday afternoon at Ellis Field.

 In the 34th minute, Jacob Grove (Harrisburg, Pa. / Central Dauphin HS) played the ball to Jarrod Gibson (Abington, Pa. / Abington) who found Blake Cassel (Hummelstown, Pa. / Lower Dauphin) and he beat the keeper to put the Eagles up 1-0, a lead they went into the locker room with at halftime. 

Nine minutes into the second half, an own goal tied the score at 1-1.  

Samuel Patston (Oak Park, Ill. / Fenwick) got the lead back for JC in 74th minute, and a minute and a half later Bass Diakhoumpa (Dakar, Senegal / Mercersburg Academy) tacked on a PK to double the Eagle lead.  

The Cougars pulled one back two minutes later to get within one, but Wyatt Page (King of Prussia, Pa. / Shipley) played the ball to Johnny King (York Springs, Pa. / Bermudian Springs) who found Diakhoumpa who again found the back of the net to push the lead back to two. 

In the 85th minute, Diakhoumpa completed his hat trick as the Eagles went on to win 5-2.  

Juniata held a 31-18 advantage in shots while Chatham had a 6-3 edge in corners.

Juniata will return to action at home, Tuesday at 7:00 against Hood.
