YORK, Pa.-The Juniata men's soccer team suffered a 5-1 defeat at York, Saturday afternoon at Graham Field.
In the 25th minute, the Spartans broke through when a cross from outside the box was slotted home by one of their forwards. Two minutes from halftime, they doubled their lead on another cross into the box that was fired into the net as JC trailed 2-0 at halftime.
In the first five minutes of the second half, York added two more as they pushed ahead 4-0.
In the 62nd minute, Jacob Grove (Harrisburg, Pa. / Central Dauphin HS) was first to a loose ball and sent it past the keeper to get the Eagles on the board.
York scored their fifth goal of the game via a penalty to complete the scoring.
Andrew Yeich (Middletown, Pa. / Middletown Area) made six saves in goal for JC.
The Eagles will host Penn State Altoona, Tuesday at 6:30.
