Eagles Net Four in First Half in Victory at Saint Vincent

Bass Diakhoumpa tallied a goal and an assist to help the Eagles defeat the Bearcats.

LATROBE, Pa.- The Juniata men's soccer team found the back of the net four times in the first 22 minutes as they cruised to a 4-0 win at Saint Vincent, Tuesday evening. 

A minute and three seconds into the game, Jacob Grove (Harrisburg, Pa. / Central Dauphin HS) played the ball into Bass Diakhoumpa (Dakar, Senegal / Mercersburg Academy) who played the ball to Wyatt Page (King of Prussia, Pa. / Shipley) who tapped it in from three yards out.  

Three and half minutes later, Charlie Kovach (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Chartiers Valley) scored from 10 yards out to double the Eagle lead.  

In the 13th minute, Diakhoumpa got in on the scoring, finding the back of the net from five yards out.  

In the 22nd minute, Blake Cassel (Hummelstown, Pa. / Lower Dauphin) scored on a tap in from two yards out on a pass from Logan Storti (Elverson, Pa. / Owen J. Roberts).  

The Eagles held the Bearcats to four total shots as they took 21 of their own.  

The four-goal first half was the most the Eagles have scored in the first half since their 4-1 victory over Pitt-Greensburg in 2010.

Juniata returns home to face Bryn Athyn, Friday at 5:00.
